WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN COMING IN

Most consultations take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour or more. If you have multiple pieces,  we encourage booking an appointment and to plan for 30 min for each item framed .  You'll want to arrive with any items you'd like included in your framing project.  If there is something you'd like us to consider when designing your project, please bring it with you.  (If it's furniture or a surrounding area- a photo is just fine.)  Our designers are informed and creative, and eager to help with advice or ideas.  Consultations are free and no obligation, but we do need to see the work in person as well as to illustrate different techniques and approaches while showcasing our wide selection for you to choose from to provide an estimated cost.  Once we've arrived at a style that fits your taste and budget, we proceed with sourcing and assembling the components for your piece.  When it's complete we will reach out to you to confirm pick-up arrangements or delivery details.

ABOUT US

ABOUT US

Lucky Rabbet 2023

As Lucky Rabbet heads into the new year, we look forward to continuing service to our great neighborhood and community. We are truly fortunate to have community and clients that have not only provided for us, but allowed us to grow. Without your support and continued patronage, Lucky Rabbet Custom Framing would not have survived the devastation a global pandemic brought to many small businesses. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting us with your most prized possessions, and for your continued support.

Our growth has also brought about some major changes, and so we hope to give you a look behind the scenes as these developments happen.

Our first major change is likely our biggest, the sale of the business. Hillary has made Lucky Rabbet what it is today, through hard work, long hours, strategic planning, and constant dedication. Her fingerprints and influence run through literally every aspect that makes up Lucky Rabbet, and she’s done it successfully for many years. Her care for customers, her experience, and her creativity will always be invaluable and irreplaceable. This is why our hearts are both heavy and excited as she ventures into the new chapters of her life. This business has no doubt created a world full of memories and experiences that will be a fond reflection for her,  and as much as she has left a positive mark on the community, the community also left its mark as well.

With departures also comes new additions to our team.

My name is Karl, and I bring along my wife Sarah and our kitties, Gizmo, our crooked eared companion and her fluffy singing sister Nadja.

As of January 2023, I will be the official owner and operator of Lucky Rabbet Custom Framing. For over 15 years, I’ve worked in the picture framing community. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to train and learn from some really talented and experienced individuals. I have been able to extend that training and experience to applying conservation quality work to my customers’ art and family heirlooms. This is an industry I have loved from day one. It allows me a creative and constructive outlet, while utilizing unique problem solving. In addition, I also spend my free moments woodworking and building furniture, and I jump at the chance to take on a new challenge. I truly love what I get to do, and I believe that comes out in the finished product. I am excited to continue the great service Hillary has provided, and look forward to our shared collaborations.

So what does this mean for Lucky Rabbet? What changes are on the horizon? Well, to be honest, we don’t need to make major changes. Because of Hillary’s expertise and diligence to establish Lucky Rabbet, the business has a solid foundation. It is my desire to continue the legacy that Hillary has built. To ensure that, I have worked along side Hillary to establish the same quality and care she has built over her many years owning and operating Lucky Rabbet Custom Framing.

So why this letter? For me, business is a community and I felt it best to be honest and transparent with you all. My hope is to ease any shock or displace any concerns as I move into this role. I want to create an opportunity to allow existing customers, and new ones, to provide feedback, ask questions, and even offer suggestions.  I have so much to learn about our community, and welcome the feedback you have to offer.

Sarah and I are very excited as we look to the future. I have had the opportunity to work alongside some amazing individuals already, and we look forward to meeting and working with more of you. I feel extremely fortunate to undertake this venture and honored that Hillary has allowed me this opportunity. I am flooded with thankfulness as each day passes and want to extend my deepest gratitude to her. Hillary, this is a real dream come true and I have you to thank. To our clients, returning and new, we look forward to working with you and we thank you for trusting us with pieces that are important to you.

Best,

Karl, Sarah, Gizmo & Nadja

What's the deal with the spelling of "rabbet?"

I am asked this question quite frequently, and yes, it is intentional.  In woodworking terms the rabbet is the recess on the back inside edge of the frame, into which the artwork fits.  I imagined it would be a fun and clever play on words.
